Revelation (apocalyptic prophecy)
3. Canon Formation
The Old Testament canon was recognized by Jewish communities long before Christ.
The New Testament canon took shape as early churches circulated apostolic writings.
By the 4th century, the 27-book New Testament was widely affirmed across Christian communities.
4. Transmission and Translation
The Bible is the most copied and most preserved ancient text in history.
Key milestones:
Septuagint (LXX): Greek translation of the Hebrew Scriptures (3rd–2nd century BC).
Vulgate: Latin translation by Jerome (late 4th century AD).
